George “Doc” Lyrene, founder

Over his time as a minister and doctor for Limestone Correctional Facility, George “Doc” Lyrene realized that many of the men transitioned from prison to the outside world with no place to go, no direction, no money, and no job. Furthermore, many men had no family to offer support or help them get back on their feet.

Because of this, George felt the call to establish a ministry designed to serve men who needed a second chance on life. From this, Shepherds Fold Village was born, with a simple message and purpose: To help ease the transition for these men and awaken them to the transformative power of Jesus Christ, while providing a community to offer hope, support, and important life skills to men needing a second chance.
